Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and found her passion to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix finished second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She broke the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 second. In 2005, she became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 beating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her events.
